After a successful implementation, your new social intranet off. this digital workplace portal will soon be the starting point of the working day for all employees where they find all their news, applications, documents and knowledge. So that can be celebrated! But what are the ingredients of a successful launch?
There is a lot at stake in a SpaceX launch: the valuable rocket, the well-trained team and the time invested are lost if the launch fails. Although the consequences are smaller, the same applies to a social intranet. That is why it is important to ensure a festive go live. But how do you do this? We'll give you 7 examples!
Example 1: Fill profiles with Photobooth!
Of course, with the profile status widget, you can digitally enthuse people to fill their profiles better. Or you can pull data from Microsoft automatically. But can this also be more fun? Sure, and the Municipality of Almere knows how! Ambassador Alfie's Alfie magazine was the information point for intranet questions. In the photo booth, profile (photos) were filled in no time!

Example 2: Personification
Choose a name that suits the organization: think of the founder or another important person in the company's history. Can't you figure it out? Then do a naming contest and let your employees choose. By making your social intranet personal, you make the portal accessible and fun. That's how we just saw Alfie pass by. At Zorginstelling de Rozelaar, Rosa comes back to the intranet everywhere. She has her own profile, answers questions, appears on banners, is on flyers and on all boards. At Gemeente Someren, they are happy with Loesje.
Example 3: Hooray! It is a...
Is it a boy or girl? If your digital workplace is a person, this person must be born too! So celebrate the birth of your brand new social intranet with rusks and mice. In the case of Joost from work company Menso, it's about blue mice. And finally, congratulate (and evaluate) the platform for his or her birthday.
Example 4: Get Creative: Smoothie Bars, Mugs, and More
The Municipality of Westland, an example when it comes to adoption and a festive go-live: posters and banners were everywhere. There was a summer stand with smoothies at both locations (because with Embrace, your working day will go smoothly from now on!) and a personalized Hello Westland mug. Ambassadors and our implementation consultants were clearly present throughout the building to help out.
Example 5: Involve ambassadors and the MT
Ambassadors are the key to success. Make sure (in) formal leaders embrace the launch. A director kicking off on the day it goes live is a great way of example. Stage fright? Then record a video and show it to all employees who log into their new digital environment for the first time.
Example 6: Set rules
Healthcare institution Amarant is collaborating on Sam (hey, another personification!). With more than 5,000 people on the platform, it is important that this is done in a safe and responsible manner. That is why a set of rules has been drawn up for Sam.
Example 7: Out of the old box
Five years ago we wrote a similar article. An absolute fan favorite was Gemeente Epe with WhatsEpe. The municipality of Epe was inspired by WhatsApp for both the name of the intranet and its logo. The promo team handed out green apples the morning that the new intranet went live. The apples matched the new logo, but also symbolized the good intention to use the new intranet.
